Since I saw Plasma for the first time, I immediately imagined it as something really organic, where you can manipulate the objects on the canvas like one would do with real objects, just grab them with one or two hands and move them, rotate them, stretch them to make them fit as you like.
Now Qt 4.6 among a ton of new features has really qute multitouch capabilities, and made this possible, here is a sneak peek:
Won’t say more for now, more on that later :p
I did the first part of the video, than the trolls put some pepper into it (love the epic music :p)
By multitouch, I assume that means support for MPX? If so, that’s awesome because I can’t wait to work on the computer with a mouse in each hand 😛
Genius video
wow, will this already be working in KDE 4.4??
Is the mistery device involved in any way?
I hope so..
Well that’s a cool video 🙂 Is the music licensed under CC?
music: unfortunately i have no idea what music is.
As for the device, this is a dell latitude xt2, something that exists right now. All the code that achieves this, is on KDE svn right now so yes, will be in 4.4
It’s not MPX, that is a slightly different concept. unfortunately right now there isn’t an unified system for multitouch merged in X11, so Qt 4.6 won’t have multitouch there, but that’s only a question of time
Not all of us have flash.
I can not see the video. Can you please provide a direct link?
